Welcome to the Useful Project
"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom" ~ Victor Frankl
The days of our lives are filled with opportunities - and the necessity - to make decisions.
Starting with our thoughts and the influence they have on our behaviour and how we feel, then needing to make choices about what to eat or not to eat, how we spend our time and with whom we invest our energy, what to say and what not to say, what to do and what not to do, we're faced with the necessity to make many, often deceivingly unimportant, choices each day.
This blog focuses on three questions to ask ourselves and make choices when we're standing in the space between stimulus and response:
Is this useful?
Is this useless?
Is this harmful?
Our answers to these questions, every time we're faced with a choice - seemingly small or large - shape our lives.
Our answers can be born from self-love, care and compassion, responsibility and power, or avoidance, mindlessness and self-destruction.
I hope you find what's shared in this blog useful as you navigate the path of your own unique life with all its challenges and opportunities.
